Simple Wood Frame Greenhouse Plans
Building a greenhouse is a great way to extend your gardening season and grow your favorite plants year-round. With a little planning and effort, you can build a simple wood frame greenhouse that will provide your plants with the protection they need to thrive. ### Materials * 2x4 lumber * 4x4 lumber * 6 mil plastic sheeting * Nails or screws * Hammer or drill * Level * Tape measure * Safety goggles * Gloves ### Instructions 1. Choose a location for your greenhouse. The best location will be one that receives plenty of sunlight and is protected from the wind. 2. Clear the area of any debris or vegetation. 3. Build the frame of the greenhouse. Start by constructing the four corner posts using 4x4 lumber. Attach the 2x4 lumber to the corner posts to form the walls and roof of the greenhouse. 4. Cover the frame with 6 mil plastic sheeting. Attach the plastic sheeting to the frame using nails or screws. Make sure to overlap the plastic sheeting by at least 6 inches to prevent leaks. 5. Install a door and windows. You can use a pre-made door and window kit or build your own. Make sure the door and windows are weather-proofed to prevent leaks. 6. Add ventilation to the greenhouse. Ventilation is important to help circulate air and prevent the greenhouse from overheating. You can install vents in the roof or walls of the greenhouse. 7. Furnish the greenhouse with shelves, tables, and other gardening supplies. You can also add a heater or fan to help control the temperature and humidity in the greenhouse. ### Tips * When choosing a location for your greenhouse, keep in mind the following: * The greenhouse should be located in a sunny spot. * The greenhouse should be protected from the wind. * The greenhouse should be easily accessible from your home. * When building the frame of the greenhouse, use pressure-treated lumber to help protect it from rot and decay. * When covering the frame with plastic sheeting, use a thick, durable plastic that is UV-resistant. * When installing the door and windows, make sure to weather-proof them to prevent leaks. * When adding ventilation to the greenhouse, install vents in the roof or walls of the greenhouse. You can also add a fan to help circulate air. * When furnishing the greenhouse with shelves, tables, and other gardening supplies, choose items that are sturdy and weather-resistant.8 X 9 Greenhouse Plans Diy Easy Framed Gabled Build How To Joinery Tutorial Instant
