Bird House Plans For Sparrows
Sparrows are small, friendly birds that are a welcome addition to any garden. They are also beneficial to the environment, as they eat insects that can damage plants. If you want to attract sparrows to your yard, you can build them a birdhouse. Here are some bird house plans for sparrows:
Simple Sparrow Birdhouse
- Materials:
- 1" x 6" board
- 1/2" plywood
- 1/4" dowel
- Wood screws
- Nails
- Paint or sealer (optional)
- Tools:
- Saw
- Drill
- Hammer
- Screwdriver
- Tape measure
- Pencil
- Instructions:
- Cut the 1" x 6" board into the following pieces:
- 2 pieces 12" long
- 2 pieces 8" long
- 1 piece 6" long
- Cut the 1/2" plywood into the following pieces:
- 1 piece 12" x 12"
- 1 piece 8" x 8"
- Assemble the front and back of the birdhouse by attaching the 12" pieces of 1" x 6" board to the 12" x 12" piece of plywood with wood screws.
- Assemble the sides of the birdhouse by attaching the 8" pieces of 1" x 6" board to the 8" x 8" piece of plywood with wood screws.
- Attach the front and back of the birdhouse to the sides with wood screws.
- Attach the 6" piece of 1" x 6" board to the bottom of the birdhouse with wood screws.
- Drill a 1/2" hole in the front of the birdhouse, about 2" from the top.
- Insert the 1/4" dowel into the hole and secure it with glue.
- Paint or seal the birdhouse (optional).
Wren House
- Materials:
- 1" x 6" board
- 1/2" plywood
- 1/4" dowel
- Wood screws
- Nails
- Paint or sealer (optional)
- Tools:
- Saw
- Drill
- Hammer
- Screwdriver

- Instructions:
- Cut the 1" x 6" board into the following pieces:
- 2 pieces 12" long
- 2 pieces 8" long
- 1 piece 6" long
- Cut the 1/2" plywood into the following pieces:
- 1 piece 12" x 12"
- 1 piece 8" x 8"
- Assemble the front and back of the birdhouse by attaching the 12" pieces of 1" x 6" board to the 12" x 12" piece of plywood with wood screws.
- Assemble the sides of the birdhouse by attaching the 8" pieces of 1" x 6" board to the 8" x 8" piece of plywood with wood screws.
- Attach the front and back of the birdhouse to the sides with wood screws.
- Attach the 6" piece of 1" x 6" board to the bottom of the birdhouse with wood screws.
- Drill a 1/2" hole in the front of the birdhouse, about 2" from the top.
- Insert the 1/4" dowel into the hole and secure it with glue.
- Paint or seal the birdhouse
