House Plan Vastu Design: Creating Harmony and Balance in Your Home

Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian science of architecture and design that emphasizes the creation of homes and buildings that are in harmony with nature and the cosmic forces. Key Principles of Vastu House Plan Design:

Orientation:

The orientation of the house is crucial in Vastu. The main entrance should ideally face North, East, or Northeast directions, as these are considered auspicious. This alignment allows for maximum sunlight and positive energy to enter the home. 2.

Brahmasthan:

The center of the house, known as the Brahmasthan, is considered the sacred space. It should be kept open and free from any construction or heavy furniture. This area is believed to be the source of positive energy and should be maintained as a tranquil space. 3.

Kitchen Placement:

The kitchen is the heart of the home and should be located in the Southeast corner. This placement ensures that the cooking fire faces East, which is considered auspicious. It also helps in maintaining a healthy balance of elements, with the fire element of the kitchen being balanced by the water element of the sink. 4.

Bedroom Placement:

The master bedroom should ideally be in the Southwest corner of the house. This placement promotes restful sleep and harmony in relationships. Children's bedrooms should be in the Northwest corner, while guest rooms can be placed in the Northwest or Northeast corners. 5.

Bathrooms and Toilets:

Bathrooms and toilets should be located in the West, Northwest, or Southwest corners. These areas are associated with the water element and are considered suitable for the placement of these rooms. The toilet seat should be placed in a way that one faces either East or North while using it. 6.

Staircase Placement:

The staircase is an important element in Vastu design. It should be located in the Southwest, West, or Northwest corners. The staircase should rise clockwise and have an odd number of steps. 7.

Windows and Doors:

Windows and doors should be designed to allow ample natural light and ventilation. The main entrance door should be larger than other doors in the house. Doors should open inwards, and windows should be placed in such a way that they do not face each other directly.
