* Magic School Bus In The Haunted House book by Joanna Cole * Whiteboard or projector * Markers or pens * Paper * Construction paper * Scissors * Glue * Tape * Flashlights * Glow sticksProcedure:
1.Introduction:
* Begin by asking students what they know about haunted houses. * Write their responses on the board or projector. * Read aloud the book Magic School Bus In The Haunted House by Joanna Cole. * As you read, stop to discuss the different parts of a haunted house and the science behind the illusions and tricks used in haunted houses. 2.Activity 1:
* Divide students into groups of 3-4. * Give each group a piece of paper and markers or pens. * Have students brainstorm ideas for their own haunted house. * Once they have a few ideas, have them write a story about their haunted house experience. 3.Activity 2:
* Have students use construction paper, scissors, glue, and tape to create models of their haunted houses. * They can use any materials they want to decorate their haunted houses. * Once their models are complete, have students share them with the class. 4.Activity 3:
