Step 1: Build the Frame
Begin by cutting the 4x4 posts to the desired height of the dog house. Then, assemble the frame by securing the posts to the 2x4s with 3-inch wood screws. Ensure the frame is square and level.
Step 2: Install the Floor
Cut the 3/4-inch plywood to fit the bottom of the frame. Secure it with 2-inch wood screws, spaced evenly around the edges.
Step 3: Build the Walls
Cut the 2x4s to the desired height of the walls. Frame the walls by attaching the 2x4s to the top and bottom of the frame. Then, cut the 1/2-inch plywood to fit the walls and secure it with 2-inch wood screws.
Step 4: Install the Roof
Cut the remaining 2x4s to form the trusses for the roof. Attach the trusses to the top of the walls, spacing them evenly. Then, cut the 3/4-inch plywood to fit the roof and secure it with 2-inch wood screws.

Roll out the roofing felt over the roof and secure it with roofing nails. Overlap the edges of the felt by several inches and seal the seams with roofing cement.
Step 6: Finish the Dog House
Sand any rough edges and apply a coat of exterior paint or stain to protect the wood. You can also add a ramp or stairs to the entrance of the dog house for easy access.
