Essential Aspects of Vastu for House Plan

Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian science of architecture that aims to create harmonious and healthy living spaces. By adhering to Vastu principles, homes can be designed to promote well-being, prosperity, and inner peace. Here are some essential aspects to consider when creating a Vastu-compliant house plan:

Orientation: The main entrance of the house should ideally face east or north, as these directions are considered auspicious and bring in positive energy. The kitchen and bedrooms should also be oriented in favorable directions to maximize natural light and ventilation.

Shape and Layout: The shape of the house should be square or rectangular, with no irregular or protruding corners. The rooms should be arranged in a logical and balanced manner, with the living room, dining room, and kitchen forming the core of the house.

Entrance: The main entrance should be spacious, well-lit, and inviting. It should not be directly opposite a window or staircase, as this can create a flow of negative energy. A small porch or overhang above the entrance is considered auspicious.

Living Room: The living room is the heart of the home and should be located in the north, northeast, or east direction. It should be a spacious and well-ventilated area that facilitates communication and family gatherings.

Kitchen: The kitchen should be located in the southeast corner of the house, which is associated with the fire element. It should be designed with a separate area for cooking and a dedicated space for storage. The stove should be positioned in the east or southeast direction to enhance prosperity.

Bedrooms: The master bedroom should be located in the southwest corner of the house, with the head of the bed towards the south or west. The other bedrooms should be arranged in the west, north, or northwest directions to promote restful sleep and good health.

Bathrooms and Toilets: Bathrooms and toilets should be placed in the west, northwest, or south directions. They should not be located directly above or below the kitchen or living room to avoid negative energy flow.

Water Bodies: Incorporating water bodies, such as a fountain or fish pond, in the northeast corner of the house is considered auspicious as it symbolizes wealth and prosperity.

Open Spaces: Leaving some open spaces around the house, such as a courtyard or balcony, allows for natural light and ventilation. Open spaces also facilitate the flow of positive energy and create a sense of well-being.

Color Schemes: Vastu also recommends using specific colors for different rooms. For example, light colors like white or cream are ideal for the living room and bedrooms, while green is beneficial for the kitchen and study room.
