The East Wing: A Historic Heart of the White House

Nestled alongside the iconic North Portico, the East Wing stands as a vibrant and historic section of the White House. The Red Room, a smaller and more intimate room, is often used for press conferences and smaller receptions.

It has served as a backdrop for some of the nation's most iconic speeches, including President John F. Kennedy's "Ask not what your country can do for you..." and President Barack Obama's announcement of the end of the Iraq War.
